Overview Varsity | Varsity Development | Intramural

The Winter training is for all Bayside competitive rowers. Tthe emphasis is on improving their rowing technique and fitness over the winter months in preparation for the Spring season. Success in the Spring and Summer is achieved as a result of the effort put forth during this period.

Ryerson Varsity Development

If you've never rowed before but are ready for the challenge, Ryerson University's competitive novice program is the perfect introduction to the sport. Novice athletes train and travel on the same intensive schedule as our experienced crews, and our top men's and women's novice boats -- dubbed Varsity "C" -- compete at major regattas from Pittsburgh to St. Catharines.

We hope to develop one of the most successful programs in the province. At other universities, the novice varsity athletes have gone on to compete as full varsity status rowers alongside rowers who have been in the sport for many years.

As well as great exercise, a high level of competition, novice rowing offers a lot of fun. We hope to develop Ryerson Rowing as a strong community that holds together long after the season is over.
