Bayside Rowing Club Code of Conduct

General & Trips

General

1. Respect for all members, volunteers and coaches at Bayside.
2. For athletes to display proper behaviour at all times whether at the club or on a trip.
3. The athlete will not argue with the officials.
4. The athletes should remember that at competitions they are representing not only themselves but the club as well.
5. The athlete should respect the rules, regulations and agreements of the club.

Trips

1. The sharing of rooms will be monitored, visitors will report to the coach or chaperone and any changes in the arrangements of rooms must be cleared through the coach.
2. Curfews will be set and must be followed. Curfews can be discussed before the trip with the coach.
3. Property is not to be destroyed or damaged, whether the property is personal, private or public.
4. Alcohol and other illegal substances are not to be consumed by those under age, and those of legal age must not consume so much as to affect their performance. Illegal substances are not to be used nor is their use to be encouraged.
5. The level of noise should be kept reasonable depending on the location of stay.
6. Respect should be given to team-mates and competitors at all times.
7. Discipline can be exercised on trips by the coach which can result in the loss of privileges.
8. Parents / guardians will be made aware of the inappropriate behaviour taken during the trip and the discipline will be discussed with them.

Examples of infractions which would result in disciplinary action being taken:

1. Not reporting a medical condition to the coach.
2. Failure to arrive at practices or competition on time.
3. Missing practice without a justifiable reason.
4. Missing a curfew.
5. Not wearing the uniform or wearing inappropriate clothing during a competition.
